Walk/Bike/Places 2018 is an opportunity to share and present research findings, cross-collaborate with other researchers and professionals, and most importantly work together toward a shared mission & belief-- greater access to walking and bicycling will create healthier individuals, cohesive neighborhoods, and vibrant communities.

Who is Project for Public Spaces? PPS is a nonprofit planning, design and educational organization dedicated to putting people first and creating public spaces that build stronger communities.

What is Placemaking? Placemaking is redefining, reimagining and reinventing public spaces by putting people first. It is a collaborative and interdisciplinary process that requires and encourages shared ideas to design a place that is safe and accessible everyone.

Why New Orleans? As Walk Bike Places celebrates their 20th conference, New Orleans will be celebrating its 300th birthday! Attendees will have the wonderful opportunity to explore one of the most socially and culturally diverse cities in the U.S. In support of promoting active transportation, attendees are encouraged to travel by foot and/or use New Orlean's newly launched bike sharing system.
