Accessing crash data plays an important role in assessing the safety needs and concerns for people walking and biking in our communities. The Call for Projects for the 2023 Active Transportation Program is Now Open!

Caltrans and the California Transportation Commission (CTC) have now opened the Active Transportation Program (ATP) Cycle 6 Call-For-Projects. The 2023 ATP Cycle 6 is expected to include roughly $650M in funding from Federal, State SB1, and State Highway Account (SHA) funding. Project applications are due by June 15, 2022.

Updated Resource: Guides and Toolkits Page

The newest addition to CATSIP is our updated and refreshed Guides and Toolkits page, which now features resources by one of three topic areas: Bike and Pedestrian Projects, Outreach and Engagement, and Safe Routes to School. These guides and toolkits come from both agencies and community organizations and were developed to promote safe walking and biking facilities. The Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) recently released a new report, "Pedestrian Traffic Fatalities by State: 2020 Preliminary Data" that provides an indepth overview of state and national trends in pedestrian traffic fatalities for January - December, 2020.
