ATP Cycle 4 Staff Recommendations and Final Scores Released

The California Transportation Commission (CTC) recently posted staff recommendations for funded projects for the Statewide and Small Urban & Rural components of the 2019 Active Transportation Program (ATP).

The purpose of ATP is to encourage increased use of active modes of transportation by achieving the following goals:

  • Increase the proportion of trips accomplished by biking and walking,
  • Increase safety and mobility for non-motorized users,
  • Advance the active transportation efforts of regional agencies to achieve greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction goals, pursuant to SB 375 (0f 2008) and SB 341 (of 2009),
  • Enhance public health,
  • Ensure that disadvantaged communities fully share in the benefits of the program, and
  • Provide a broad spectrum of projects to benefit many types of active transportation users.

2019 ATP Cycle 4 Staff Recommendations and Final Scores

For this cycle of applications, over $218 million in funding was recommended for statewide projects, while staff recommended over $43 million for small urban & rural projects. 2019 ATP application scores are also posted. The Commission will vote on these recommendations in an upcoming meeting on January 30 and 31 in Rocklin. Staff recommendations and final scores are available on the CTC website.
