CATSIP New Micromobility Resource

CATSIP is home to a number of resources that support active transportation safety in California. As the newest addition, we would like to introduce a section on "Micromobility" found under the "Resources" tab. It features content in the following categories -- Statistics and Trends, Emerging Research & Technology, Permits Programs & Best Practices, and Micromobility Policies by City.

Statistics & Trends

  • Includes a general overview from micromobility statistic resources, such as the National Household Travel Survey (NHTS) and the Shared Micromobility webpage from the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO)

Emerging Research & Technology

  • Includes various research studies, toolkits, and guides related to the new study of shared mobility devices and their impacts on fellow road users as well as cities as a whole
  • Organized with the most recent papers at the top

Permit Programs & Best Practices

  • Provides information on how select cities have approached micromobility through their permit programs 
  • Each pilot and permit program listed contains a hyperlink to the city website or document
  • Organized in an accordion style for easy browsing

Micromobility Policies by City

  • List of micromobility policies in various cities throughout the state
  • Includes municipal codes and ordinances, city micromobility websites, permit programs and applications, and other documents where available
  • Organized in an accordion style for easy browsing
