New Safety Stories highlight how communities are prioritizing safer, more accessible streets for all people

Explore our newest installments in the Stories from You and Stories From the Field Series to learn how people on the frontline are improving road safety for people who walk, bike and roll in their communities! In the two latest Safety Stories, the SafeTREC team talked with Jessica Lehman with Senior and Disability Action and Jason Kligier with the City of Santa Moncia. For this installment of Stories from You, we're excited to feature a story from Jessica Lehman, Executive Director at Senior and Disability Action. With expansion into the East Bay, Senior and Disability launched and won a successful street safety campaign on a particularly tough portion of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Oakland for people of all ages and abilities. For this installment of Stories from the Field, City of Santa Monica Mobility Manager Jason Kligier discusses the development of the 2022 Local Roadway Safety Plan, implementing pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements as part of achieving the city's Vision Zero goals, and the importance of data analysis, community engagement, and outreach.
