2022 Safe Routes to Parks Accelerator

The Safe Routes Partnership is currently accepting applications for their Safe Routes to Parks Accelerator technical assistance program through September 23, 2022. The program will bring a cross-agency state team together to improve safe, convenient, and equitable routes to parks and open spaces. The program will also help establish sustainable processes for cross-agency collaboration and implement projects and programs to support the access needs for the state’s parks and open spaces. Over 12 months, the cross-agency team will receive technical assistance from the Safe Routes Partnership through virtual trainings, regular consultations, peer learning opportunities, and an in-person site visit.

Those interested in the program, will need to fill out this brief form and submit a 1-2 page Letter of Interest by September 23. You can find more information on the program’s website or email parks@saferoutespartnership.org

America Walks Community Change Grants

America Walks launches their 2022 Community Challenge Grants program next Thursday, September 15th. The program advances walkability throughout the United States through awarding grants to the advocates, organizations, and agencies working to make their communities walkable for all. Grants are awarded to projects focused on innovative, engaging, and inclusive ideas that create change and opportunity for walking and movement within communities. 

Applications for Community Change Grants are due September 30th. Be sure to check the program website for updates and the launch of applications next week.

Caltrans’ Local Highway Safety Improvement Program’s Cycle 11 application deadline is Monday, September 12, 2022.

Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant Program’s deadline for applications is 5:00 p.m. EDT on September 15, 2022.

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Reconnecting Communities Program is accepting applications through 11:59 PM EDT on Thursday, October 13, 2022.
