Ava Community Energy, an energy company that services Alameda County in California, has launched an e-bike rebate program where all Alameda County residents are eligible for up to $1,500 off an e-bike purchase at specified vendors.
All eligible applicants qualify for a $400 instant rebate for a standard e-bike or $900 for a cargo or adaptive e-bike. Income-qualified applicants can receive a $1,000 instant rebate for a standard e-bike or $1,500 for a cargo or adaptive e-bike. Income-qualified applicants can receive an additional $250 instant rebate for bike safety equipment, such as helmets, locks, and lights.
To be eligible for the Income-Qualified Instant Rebate, your household must be enrolled in California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE), Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA), or Energy Assistance Program (EAP). To enter the drawing for a rebate, applicants must:

Apply Online: Complete the application form. Ava will verify your eligibility and notify you by email after you apply.

Monthly Random Drawings: Eligible applicants are automatically entered into three consecutive monthly drawings. Random drawings take place on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Anyone deemed eligible by 11:59 PM the day prior will be entered in that month’s drawing.

Get an Instant Rebate: If you are selected, you’ll receive an email with your unique instant rebate code and details about your instant rebate amount.

Purchase a New E-Bike: Redeem your instant rebate at any participating bike shop. You must complete your e-bike purchase within 60 days of receiving your instant rebate.

Able to show photo ID and proof of address during rebate redemption
Eligible applicants may qualify for one (1) instant rebate per person with a maximum of two (2) instant rebates per household. Each person in a household must apply individually. Only one entry per person is allowed. Submitting multiple applications will not increase your chances of being selected.
