California Walk Friendly Communities (WFC)

The following table features communities in California and throughout the U.S. that have been awarded a "Walk Friendly" designation, which recognizes their commitment to improving and sustaining walkability and pedestrian safety through comprehensive programs, plans, and policies. 

Walk Friendly Communities (WFC) is a national recognition program developed to encourage towns and cities across the U.S. to establish or recommit to a high priority for supporting safer walking environments. The WFC program recognizes communities that are working to improve a wide range of conditions related to walking, including safety, mobility, access, and comfort. It is supported and operated by the UNC Highway Safety Research Center and the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center (PBIC).
