The League of American Bicyclists Bicycle-Friendly America program provides resources, hands-on assistance and a roadmap for states, communities, businesses and universities to make bicycling a real transportation and recreation option for all people and it recognizes those doing it well.
- The Bicycle Friendly State (BFS) program promotes awareness, best practices, and action by state Departments of Transportation and state legislatures. It provides a ranking of states, report cards by state, and a national report.
- The Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) program provides guidance to make your vision for a bikeable community a reality. The next deadline to apply for for the 2025 BFC program is June 25, 2025.
- The Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) program recognizes employers for their efforts to encourage a more bicycle-friendly atmosphere. The next deadline to apply is March 20, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. PT.
- The Bicycle Friendly University (BFU) program recognizes institutions of higher education for promoting and providing a more bicycle-friendly campus for students, staff and visitors. The next BFU program deadline is August 7, 2025 at 11:59pm PT.
