AARP Community Challenge Grants
AARP’sCommunity Challenge Grants are back once again and applications are now open to fund quick-action projects that can help communities become more livable for people of all ages. In 2023, the program is accepting applications across three different grant opportunities, two of which are new this year: Flagship Grants, Capacity-Building Microgrants, and Demonstration Grants.

2023 America Walks Walking College
America Walks just launched their 2023 Walking College application. The Walking College is an online educational program geared toward early-to-middle-stage advocates who are eager to organize their communities to create walkable, vibrant, safe, and accessible places. Those who are chosen to participate in the program are asked to commit to 5 to 10 hours a week to complete six online learning modules. At the end of the program, they submit an action plan outlining goals and strategies and a timeline for tackling a problem in their community of their choosing.
Applications are currently open for the 2023 National Walking College and several State Walking Colleges. Visit the Walk College website to learn more about each program and how to apply. Applications close on February 28th, 2023.
Tribal Transportation Program Safety Fund (TTPSF) deadline extended!
The 2023 TTP Safety Fund application deadline has been extended to March 9, 2023 The Safety Fund helps federally recognized Indian tribes address transportation safety issues in their communities. All projects chosen are those which will reduce fatal and serious injuries in transportation related incidents. To apply, review the amended Notice of Funding Opportunity and then visit the TTP Safety Fund website for instructions on how to send in your application.

The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) updated their Grant Opportunities webpage with regional, state, and federal funding opportunities agencies can apply to for implementing their active transportation projects. Be sure to check back regularly for new funding opportunities.

The US Department of Transportation (US DOT) launched their DOT Navigator, a new resource created to help communities understand the best ways to apply for grants. The Navigator also helps communities plan for and deliver their transformative active transportation projects and programming.
