On January 18th, 2018 America Walks will present the second episode in their new Walking Toward Justice Webinar Series, "The Criminal Justice System's Impact on Walking and Walkability in Low-Income and Communities of Color." This quarterly event provides an opportunity to discuss and identify solutions for improving walkability for all with an interactive panel of leading scholars, activists, practitioners, America Walks Board members, and policymakers.

The National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) has released a new guide, Designing for All Ages and Abilities: Contextual Guidance for High-Comfort Bicycle Facilities that will help cities determine what types of bike infrastructure help in achieving the goal to build bike networks that are safe and comfortable for riders of all ages and abilities.

Since 2004, the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Adminstration (FHWA) Safety Office has been working to aggressively reduce pedestrian deaths by focusing extra resources on the cities and states with the highest pedestrian fatalities and/or fatality rates. Part of this effort has included development of the guide, "How to Develop a Pedestrian Safety Action Plan", which helps state and local officials know where to begin to address pedestrian safety issues.
